Coelum et terrenum corpus

A conversation with JD Kelley on my ritual performance Visitation, described as a work of avant-garde astral magic. The work was choreographed using psychophysical techniques to transform consciousness and space to evoke an encounter with the sacred: the Venusian numina and specifically the apocalyptic divine force BABALON.

We touch on the primacy of the bodymind as the ground of consciousness and the fundamental role of movement as generative of gnosis, the body’s mimetic faculty, as well as its visionary capacity. We further explore some of the insight and body technique that went into this particular ritual choreography including inner imaging, the relationship between inner and outer landscapes, and the relationship between mystical and scientific knowledge.

Visitation was performed at Trans- States: The Art of Revelation on 13th September 2019 at the University of Northampton.
