I will perform The Passion of Colette Peignot at Darkness Audible on Sunday 29th April, a reworking of the Invocation given at Trans-States in 2016. Peignot was a central if obscured figure of the French intelligentsia, better known as Laure, the lover of Bataille and friend of Michel Leiris and Maurice Blanchot, her companions in the Collège de Sociologie and the infamous secret society Acéphale.

The dance is a meditation on death, eros and the convulsive movement of life, evoked in three acts inspired by the life and writings of Peignot: 1) La petite mort; 2) The dark power; and 3) Corrida fleurie.
